For our next production we were awaiting
the return of Richard and Carole Harris
from VSA in Bhutan. Richard had
promised to direct a play for us on his
return and was not given much time before
calling auditions.
Unfortunately we were unable to cast the
play with sufficient rehearsal time, so it was
postponed until early 2009. This left us
with a hole to fill so, to keep our audiences
interested, Bill Finn and Carol Freebairn
performed a “mini” revue called ‘The Two
of Us’.
'A Christmas Revue' Our 2008 season ended with the Christmas
The end of year production ‘A Christmas show 'Time After Time' directed by
Revue’ was directed once again by Bill WILLIAM Finn according to the write-up!
Finn. Another successful show and included
some new faces.
We decided to take the opportunity over
the summer recess to do some more
renovations. We replaced the linoleum in
the toilet block and kitchen and replaced
both stoves. This involved emptying the
pantry so the old flooring could be removed
and there was a lot of sorting before the
necessary things were returned to the
shelves. Barbara Thomson denied any
responsibility by saying, “If you can’t find
anything, blame Carol!‘’
2008
All the planned renovations were
completed in time for two one-act plays,
‘Chook, Chook’ directed by Bill Finn Time After Time’
2009
The year began in May with 'Mystery, Mirth
and Murder', three one-act plays: 'The
Blackness of Blackmail' directed by Terry
O'Grady, 'The Fat Lady Sings in Little
Grimley' directed by Mavis Cattle and ‘Bon
Appetite' directed by Richard Harris.
These plays brought new people again and
and ‘Last Tango in Little Grimley’ directed offered lots of twists and turns throughout
by Suzanne McKenzie. These were a bit their scripts.
of fun and well received.
August brought another play directed by
Richard Harris, 'No Dinner for Sinners', a
comedy which had some action
reminiscent of Fawlty Towers about it.
